Hi Kitchen backsplash Ideas Expert!
I'm trying to help my friend redecorate his bungalow kitchen. Someone redid it. They moved the fridge to an alcove, the stove under the window and the sink to the interior wall next to the dishwasher. I assume it was to move the sink to the dishwaser (drain and space). I doubt he will spend the $$ to get a smaller dishwasher and relocate the stove (it's gas). There are 9' ceilings. There is about 2' of space above the upper cabinets. A microwave over the sink. There is a vanity light strip over the sink (on the wall over the cabinets) and a melon globe on the ceiling. I wanted to repaint the walls, cabinets and the maroon tile backsplash. I want to go period with the colors, but can't afford custom cabinets. So, they stay. The floor is vinyl square tiles that seem like they were laid over ceramic or something else.
What do you think?

Hi Doni
The kitchen is the most expensive room in any home/bungalow. If money is a problem, so is the project. it sounds ok to me...unless the color is a problem, it will take majar monies to remodel. See if small changes make a difference. Lighting, counters, such.
